What is reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan and is designed to support the body’s natural ability to heal and restore balance. The word “Reiki” comes from two Japanese words: Rei, meaning universal, and Ki, meaning life force energy. Together, Reiki refers to the universal life energy that flows through all living things.
During a Reiki session, a practitioner uses light touch or holds their hands just above the body to help guide and balance this energy. The goal is to encourage relaxation, reduce stress, and support the body’s natural healing processes. Many people describe the experience as deeply calming, often feeling warmth, gentle sensations, or a peaceful sense of stillness.
Reiki works on the idea that when our life force energy is low or blocked, we may feel stressed, tired, or out of balance. By helping restore the natural flow of energy, Reiki can promote a sense of harmony across the mind, body, and spirit.
While Reiki is not a replacement for medical care, it is often used as a complementary wellness practice. People seek Reiki for many reasons, including stress relief, emotional support, spiritual connection, and overall well-being.
One of the most beautiful aspects of Reiki is its simplicity. You don’t need to believe in anything specific for it to work, and each person’s experience is unique. For many, it simply provides a quiet space to relax, reconnect, and allow the body to settle into a state of peace.
In a world that often moves quickly, Reiki offers a gentle pause, an opportunity to slow down, restore balance, and support your natural state of well-being
